Acrylic paint is a fast-drying media made out of pigments suspended in a multitude of emulsions or binders that become water-resistant after drying. It is very versatile as not only can it adhere to many surfaces from paper to plastics, it comes with a huge variety of acrylic-specific mediums that can alter its characteristics, such as lengthening its working time, to giving it a gel-like property, to even heavily dilute it for specific watercolour-like effects.
Isopropyl alcohol is a fairly effective solvent for cleaning dried acrylic off surfaces if water and soap doesn't get rid of it.
